Why bucket elevators are widely used in food processing

Bucket elevators are very common in food processing, except for a few processing plants that use pneumatic conveying, bucket elevators are used for material transportation. Why are bucket elevators widely used?

Grain processing plants use bucket elevators:

1. There are no strict requirements for the materials being transported, and it has a wide range of applications. It can transport granular materials with good fluidity, such as rice, brown rice, white rice, etc., as well as powder materials with poor fluidity, such as fine rice bran. Even for wool rice containing a large amount of fiber impurities (such as straw), this is a headache for pneumatic conveying, but the hoist is still not inferior.

2. Strong lifting power and large conveying capacity. The lifting height of a bucket elevator can exceed 20 meters, even up to 45 meters, and its throughput can exceed 150 tons/hour. This kind of improvement in height and conveying capacity is incomparable to other conveying equipment.

3. Smooth operation with low noise. Grain processing is usually used because the linear speed of the hopper belt is not very high, so the spindle speed is usually very low. As long as it is installed correctly, the operation will be relatively quiet and stable.

4. Low power consumption. The power of the bucket elevator is relatively small. Compared with screw conveyors and scraper conveyors, their power is smaller. Compared to pneumatic conveying, it is more important, only one-fifth to one tenth of it.
