Why bucket elevators are widely used in food processing

Bucket elevators are very common in food processing. Except for a few processing plants that use pneumatic conveying, bucket elevators are used for material transportation. Why are bucket elevators widely used?

Grain processing plants use bucket elevators:

1. There are no strict requirements for the conveyed materials, and the scope of application is wide. It can transport granular materials with good fluidity, such as rice, brown rice, white rice, etc., as well as powder materials with poor fluidity, such as fine rice bran, even for woolen rice that contains a large amount of fiber impurities (such as straw). Conveying is also a headache, but the hoist is still not inferior.

2. Strong lifting force and large conveying capacity. The lifting height of the bucket elevator can be greater than 20 meters, or even 45 meters, and its throughput can exceed 150 tons/hour. This lifting height and conveying capacity are unmatched by other conveying equipment.

3. Smooth operation and low noise. Grain processing is usually used, because the linear speed of the hopper belt is not very high, so the speed of the spindle is usually very low. As long as the installation is correct, the operation is relatively quiet and stable.

4. Low power consumption. The bucket elevator has less power. Compared with screw conveyors and scraper conveyors, they are less powerful. Compared with pneumatic conveying, it is more important, only one fifth to one tenth of it.
